About Solidatus

During a combined 35 years of consulting, Solidatus Co-Founders Philip Dutton and Philip Miller noticed a consistent pattern of data management problems, including projects taking too long, mind-bending complexity and low confidence in data. They set out to change that, and Solidatus was born.

Since 2017, Solidatus has become a world-leading data management solution, chosen by the world's most data-rich and regulated organisations for its game-changing visualisation capabilities and ability to rapidly speed up data projects.

In 2022, Solidatus launched our US headquarters in Houston, Texas, and its team has grown to over 100 of the best and brightest and continues to expand. Solidatus has won ten industry awards in 2022 alone, including Waters Technology's 'Best Sell-Side Data Management Solution', and was named in Deloitte's Fast 50 for the second year in a row.

How we helped

Myriad conducted a kick off call with C-Suite executives to outline the claim process and establish the main projects to be claimed for. With a full project list confirmed, Myriad’s Cost & Tax Consultant began working on the costing schedule, identifying eligible expenditure across staff, subcontractors and software licenses, and apportioning them as necessary.

Myriad’s Technical Consultant conducted additional interviews with Solidatus’ technical leads to write up the R&D activity in full. The technical report went beyond the information required by HMRC within the Additional Information Form and provides an in-depth analysis of the R&D work conducted by Solidatus, interwoven with examples of HMRC’s guidance to highlight the eligibility of the projects.

The reward

The claim was submitted within four months from the kick off call, resulting in a large R&D tax cash credit for Solidatus. With upcoming changes to the R&D tax scheme, Myriad later modelled the impact of these changes on future claims to enable accurate forecasting.
